My Mom and I had set a goal that we would get me all packed and ready earlier enough to get to bed and say goodbyes to family and friends. My plane was to leave Tuesday, January 7 at 5:00 a.m. We would need to wake up at 2:30 a.m. to get ready to leave. We were packing my bags Monday afternoon when I decided I would make sure I have the original e-mail with my flight. I was searching the inbox on my phone when gave up, and decided to e-mail Nancy. Now Nancy is the lady from BYU who books all of the flights. She is like a personal travel agent. I e-mailed her and asked if she would resend me my flight itinerary. I knew she would get back to me promptly so was not worried about the lost information. Well she did get back to me promptly but her response was a little different than I had thought. “Were you not on the flight that left Salt Lake this morning?” Whoops! Now that is a big mistake on my part. I never thought I could actually miss a flight, by having the date wrong. I knew that I was prone to missing flights as I have a tendency to be late (and just for you Dad my goal for this year is to break that habit). Usually a missed flight was due to a lunch out with friends on the way to Salt Lake, or taking the wrong exit, or running in the shops at the airport, never should it have been due to confusing the dates. I truly believe that I missed my flight because in my mind I arrived in London on Tuesday. Well, if you arrive Tuesday you depart Tuesday. Make sense, right? Nancy was great and rescheduled my flight to Thursday, January 9.
xoxo,
Kristin
